Very few of us can put into words what this pandemic, which started at the end of 2019, has done to all of us.
There are definitely positive aspects, but one thing is clear to us: things will never be the same again.
In early 2021, a 200-year-old sea shanty went around the world. Many have covered it, many have sung it together. For me it was not a question to sing this song, so many had done it before me.
After I was asked several times where my version was, I had the idea for a new text in German one weekend in March. This text is about how much we miss the music, the atmosphere of concerts and the dynamics of the crowd in front of the stage.
Unfortunately, things are still not good for the event industry.
But you can do something: support your favorite musician or band by buying CDs and merch. If especially the "little ones" can't earn an income anymore, many bands and musicians won't exist in the future.
How much wonderful music would we lose then?!

There used to be a band that played for you.
It was a long time ago, remember?
First came the plague, then it was over
And the world went quiet.
Then the music was gone
And we never got it back until now
The music was gone
And the world went quiet.
The band is still there, they won't give up
Everybody's rehearsing and they're still going strong
The plague is still there, it doesn't give up either
And the world is still.
Then the music was gone
And we never got it back until now
The music was gone
And the world went quiet.
The audience is whistling from the last hole,
There used to be music, they still remember
the art is just locked up,
Come on, let it out again.
It must return the music,
we still haven't got it back,
it must return, the music,
the world needs song and sound.
It must return the music,
we still haven't got it back,
it must return, the music,
the world needs song and sound.
